The
Tajmahal Guesthouse (Taj) is located just off the Kabul Jalalabad road about
half way between Nangarhar University, and downtown Jalalabad in the hamlet of
Bagrami. The guesthouse is a secure, guarded compound with fourteen rooms in two
spacious buildings. The Tajmahal is home to the only international bar in the
region – the Bamboo Bar as well as the only pool where the international community
can sun, swim and relax without offending local sensibilities.
Residents of
the Tajmahal enjoy large private rooms with private baths, a wireless fatpipe
enabling lightening fast internet anywhere on the compound, daily laundry and
room service, and prepared meals from Jalalabad’s only Chinese trained
Afghan cook.
The
Taj is available for both long and short term stays. The current long term
guests hail from around the globe and work in a variety of governmental and non
governmental organizations. The Taj is not only ideal for firms in the reconstruction
sector requiring secure accommodations for their international staff but it is
also ideal for media, writers and researchers.
